Internet has become an important part of our lives. We use it for information, knowledge and entertainment. It seems like an ocean where you enter and get into deeper and deeper. It is estimated that Worldwide, around 400 million users use internet for their business, education, entertainment, research and development et.al. All of us today pay for internet based on the data usage. Let’s assume if we get absolutely free internet any where any time. It would be amazing if we could use internet without worrying about the cost.

Yes, the new era is set to deliver free internet. A Chinese company, LinkSure Network launched a project to provide free internet globally by 2026. LinkSure is a global innovative mobile internet company specializing in free internet access, content and location based services. Company has become one of the World’s largest unicorn companies. In 2017, LinkSure Network is listed by China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as one of the China’s top 100 Internet companies.

LinkSure Network’s mission is to bridge inequalities in the digital World. According to the company, this project will enable users around the globe to access internet free of charge. Company would establish 272 satellites in different orbits and height in order to span the entire globe. First satellite is set to be launched in north-west China in 2019 from Jiuquan Satellite Lunch Centre. Ten more satellites will be sent into orbit by 2020. According to the LinkSure Network CEO-Wang Jingying, company will invest 3 billion Yuan (USD 431.4 Million) into this project.

With the help of this project, users could access internet services without any password and even in the regions where telecom network does not exist. Around 3.9 billion people are still unable to access the internet, according to a report from the United Nations in 2017. According to Elon Musk’s Space X , Shanghai based internet company- satellites will be used to expand internet coverage and boost internet speed. Currently, many companies, including Google, SpaceX, OneWeb and Telesat, have already launched plans to use satellites to provide free internet access. China is building a BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) to rival US' Global Positioning System (GPS). It will be the fourth global satellite navigation system after the US GPS system, Russia's GLONASS and European Union's Galileo. India too is building its navigational system called the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), with an operational name called NAVIC.
