In the current technology-driven environment, there are enough resources available for information. Within a short period of time, one can get information resources related to all aspects of life i.e. education, business, finance, research et.al.

Today, there are many social platforms available through which likeminded people can build network and share information. Job seekers also use these platforms for job search. LinkedIn is one of the platforms, used by the job seekers to connect with employers and also for sharing resume.

Now, TikTok, is also offering platform to jobseekers to share resume using videos. This new recruitment trend is welcomed by employers, and they are paying attention to TikTok resumes. With this new tool, job seekers can pitch their resume in an effective way by showcasing their communication and presentation skills.

This video platform will redefine, a page or pages resume. A job seeker can create, 15 seconds to a few minutes video including qualification, experience, technical skills in an effective manner. Job seekers can share these videos to prospective employers or organizations using 'TikTok Resume' tag-in caption.

Video resume will help to get a better sense of prospective employees' personality. This innovative approach will help jobseekers to stand out from the crowd. Currently, with a pilot program TikTok has teamed up with companies viz. Alo Yoga, NBA, Sony Music, Chiptole, Sweetgreen etc.

According to TikTok, job seekers can use TikTok Resumes to "peruse job listings, for exampleTikTok video resumes, profiles of TikTok creators who create career-job related content and to submit for posted jobs." This platform is very well accepted by entry-level jobseekers.

In addition, TikTok considers it, as one of the 'green-screen' features to exhibit experience and portfolio. Kayla Dixon, a marketing manager at TikTok, is of the opinion that this is an effort to help young jobseekers, as half of TikTok's user base is younger than 24.

At the same time, some of the professionals have reservations regarding video resumes. In case of a video resume, employers may higher or dismiss the prospective candidates based on their presentation or looks. Therefore, organizations need to educate their HR teams to facilitate a fair recruitment process. Also, inspite of good credentials, a few candidates may fail to create video resume (due to lack of resources and know-how).

However, the programme is at pilot testing stage, despite that; within a short period of time about 800 candidates have already submitted their video resume. In coming days, this will create a new avenue of revenue for TikTok and will benefit organizations as well as prospective employees.

Jerome Singer, a former professor at Pennsylvania State University and the father of daydreaming research, hypothesized that daydreaming can have a positive effect on an individual.
